The research project is carried out in the workplace under the supervision of an academic supervisor and your workplace tutor. You are expected to develop an understanding of the planning, execution and reporting of a research project. You will also develop problem-solving, project management and presentation skills.

Written examinations take place in UCC at the end of both years. For some modules, there is a clinical case presentation along with the exam at the end of the academic year.
Approved pharmacists can take part in further education courses in drug information or in clinical pharmacy (in collaboration with hospital pharmacies) and become specialist pharmacists.

The Faculty of Pharmacy offers interesting possibilities for acquiring the education and scientific degree PhD (Pharmacy) by defending a doctoral thesis in various fields of the pharmaceutical science &ndash pharmaceutical technology, pharmacognosy and phitocemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmaceutical analysis, social pharmacy, inorganic, organic, analytical chemistry and physical chemistry.
Science graduates, especially pharmacists, can receive their doctorate (Dr. rer. nat.) by writing a thesis related to clinical pharmacy at our department. The thesis prject usually takes at least three years and will culminate in a doctoral dissertation and an oral defense.
